Story
While surfing on a Cornish beach, Tamsin wipes out on her board and finds herself taken down into the deep, to a world of ancient mermaid magic. Her family is in grave danger and only she can save them.
Why we chose it
A fantasy adventure with a great main character, which first appeared in The Phoenix comic.
Where it came from
Neill Cameron was a regularly visitor to Cornwall and over the years became fascinated by the particular Cornish folklore. He was also inspired by an exhibition at Tate St Ives on the theme of the Imaginary Underwater .

It was shortlisted for a British comic award in 2016. There are further Tamsin stories, Tamsin and the Dark and Tamsin and the Days.
