Follow Maisy as she gets ready for bed.

Story

It’s bedtime for Maisy, but there are a few jobs she has to do first. Join Maisy as she gets ready for bed and finally snuggles down with Panda to go to sleep.

Why we chose it

A simple bedtime story for the very young, illustrated in vibrant colour. Children will recognise their own bedtime routines in Maisy’s.

Where it came from

Lucy Cousins (1964) is an English author and illustrator. She lives in Hampshire with her husband and four children. Cousins finds illustrating comes more easily than writing and Maisy mouse “drew herself” during a doodling session one day.

Where it went next

Maisy stars in her own TV series and was also featured on a postage stamp in the U.S Postal Service in their 2006 Favourite Children’s Book Animal Series. Cousin’s vibrant books have been printed in 29 languages and 31 million books have sold worldwide.

Associated stories

Maisy features in well over 60 books, aimed at babies and pre-school aged children. Maisy’s House was awarded the Bologna Ragazzi Non-fiction Prize in 1997 and Maisy’s First Colours was listed by the prestigious Carnegie Library as a 2013 pick for their Best Books for Babies List.

In 2002 Cousins won the Nestle Smarties Book Prize 0-5 years with Jazzy in the Jungle and in 2014 Peck,Peck, Peck won her a Booktrust Best Book Award.
