Why we chose it
An imaginative and engaging take on traditional dragon stories with some beautiful details in the illustrations – look out for the furniture left behind by the bats. George and the Dragon was a favourite with visitors to our Pumpkin story tent.
Where it came from
In this story, English author and illustrator, Christopher Wormell, puts a twist into the ancient legend of St. George and the Dragon. In the legend, St. George rescues a princess and countless villagers from a ferocious dragon.

The book was an immediate bestseller and has been extremely well reviewed. It is read widely in schools and is one of Wormell’s best loved books.
